San Diego Top Tips
- Seek out the famous In-N-Out Burger restaurants; they only exist in California, Arizona and Nevada. This is how Mcdonald's should really taste!
- Take a sunset stroll down through Ocean Beach. When it's clear and orange skied, there's nothing more beautiful.
- Check the music listings in the local papers when you're out there; there's always something going on. Usually in the Gaslamp Quarter, giving you time to sneak a cocktail beforehand.
- Balboa Park is a must during your San Diego Holiday. It's free entry to the grounds, which are lovely to simply wander; some of the attractions within do require payment however.
- Students can pick up an International Student Identity Card (ISIC) for $22 before arriving to receive worthwhile discount on attractions and travel.
- Seaworld might sound a bit corny and tourist-y but it's actually one of San Diego's best attractions - you seriously won't regret going, especially if you're taking the kids.
- Drive out to the North County for a real taste of San Diego. The freshly picked strawberries from La Costa Blvd are the best you'll have tasted.
- For some real extreme thrill-seeking, try the Torrey Pines Glider Port and book an unforgettable hang-glide over the pristine beaches.
- Finally, take the Coronado Ferry across the bay for wonderful, traditional Hawaiian food at Peohe's. The boat ride will stay with you long after your San Diego holiday.
