Holidays in Orlando |
|
Orlando is primarily the place to indulge in Disney fantasy and fun. However, there are many other attractions to enjoy on Orlando holidays, believe it or not! Florida’s temperate climate makes it pleasant for a visit year-round. Orlando is also a hub from which to visit many others of Florida’s theme parks – not just the home of the ubiquitous mouse! Try out Gatorland (‘alligator capital of the world’), the Holy Land (a‘God themed’ park!), or the delightfully low tech Skull Kingdom.

Holidays in Orlando - Attractions
There is so much to see and do on holidays in Orlando, including of course the world famous Walt Disney World Florida theme parks. Peak visit times to Orlando are summer and school holidays, so a good bet for off-peak travel to the city is just after or before thanksgiving, and between this time and Christmas. Orlando has a good local art gallery, as well as lovely and stunning national parks around town.
There are also a few restaurants that offer respite from the hamburger-fest of theme park eating during holidays Orlando! There are some more adventurous eateries downtown.
There are also a few festivals that take place in Orlando, that manage to prise the local focus away from the fantasy of theme parks, and onto such local pastimes as rodeo, golf and even gardening. The Silver Spurs Rodeo is the largest in the US, and the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival is a big event at Walt Disney World in April.
Holidays in Orlando - Nightlife
Local indy music and great pubs and clubs populate the night-time landscape of Orlando. ‘Independent Bar’ is a great local club, where alternative rock and underground dance music offer jiving options to the energy-laden or curious. At this club, women receive free drinks until midnight every Wednesday! Bring thirsty ladies along to enjoy the theme.
