New York, New York

A city of contrasts and beautiful harmonies too, this famous metropolis has an inimitable buzz about it. It is the ideal location for the archetypal city break – a New York City break will tick all the boxes, entertain, impress and endear. A city break in New York will also introduce you to the array of local colour and personality that its residents embrace and engage in at every turn.

Manhattan is the epitome of cool, and its own many faces show different sides of the city; the Lower East Side is an oft-missed jewel of a place, with a wealth of clubs, boutiques, restaurants and thrift stores. The relatively new ‘Hotel On Rivington’ is a trendy boutique hotel hang-out favoured by rock stars and indie kids – do check out the vibe of this vibrant area!
Also be sure to visit the eloquently named meatpacking district of New York! This area is hip, cool trendiness defined, in New Yoik style. Pricey, be-seen-there-restaurants jostle ‘you want to buy this, but your bank disagrees’ boutiques, and bars, clubs and cafes that swing with a vibe all their own. The meatpacking district is a crime to miss, if a trendy city break in New York is your thing.
New Year’s Eve in Times Square is world renowned, and don’t forget to enjoy the legendary St Patrick’s Day celebrations on 17th March if you are in the city at the time. In May there is the Tribeca film festival (inaugurated by Robert De Niro) to enjoy. Come the latter end of the year, Thanksgiving festivities and Christmas celebrations light up the winter; there is always something entertaining happening to delight when you are on a city break in New York. Then there are Times Square, Soho, Manhattan, Greenwich Village, shops, theatres, museums… You will not be short of activities and sites of interest on a city break in New York, just beware of over scheduling, and not having time to take it all in!

At night, New York comes even more alive, if that were possible! The city is awash with opportunities to sample the latest and greatest in the arts, music, big name performers’ shows, great bars, clubs and dining. Take your pick; take a bite of the Big Apple!
